Global Logistics & Freight Forwarder Agility Logistics has signed a lease on a new 32,000sqm facility at Melbourne Airport advised by Salinger DC&W.

Significant business growth has seen Agility grow their warehousing space substantially over recent years. The opportunity emerged to embark on a long-term strategy to capitalise on efficiencies and Agility engaged Salinger to work closely with them to realise that goal.

Alongside the Agility team, Salinger developed a scope for the new building’s requirements, initiated discussions, and set strategy.

A shortlist of suitable sites was drawn up and considered, which culminated in an agreed design and construct facility on a high profile 6 hectare site on Airport Drive.

The new facility will increase Agility’s existing warehouse footprint by 10% and increase racking capacity by approximately 40%.

The new building introduces greater operational efficiencies with an increased truck marshaling area and increases in staging areas, roller doors, and recessed docks. Airport Drive will also house 130 staff in striking new facilities as Agility’s relocates its Australasian head office from one of the existing buildings. The site also provides the opportunity to accommodate future expansion as and when required.

The building is currently under construction and due for completion in December 2020.
